AI can recommend a disc with remarkable confidence. Knowing who actually has that disc in stock, in the weight, colour and plastic you want, has traditionally been somebody else’s problem.

DiscFinder checks current inventory from daily feeds covering more than 50 disc golf retailers, applies your variant preferences, converts prices where useful and returns direct retailer links.

The interesting part is not that AI can talk about discs. It could already do that. The useful part is that it can now check if somebody actually appears to have the disc you want.

What DiscFinder can check

• Mould – search for a specific disc such as a Buzzz, TeeBird, Crave or Destroyer.
• Weight – ask for an exact weight such as 169g or a useful range.
• Colour – filter for pink, white, glow or another colour where retailers provide the data.
• Plastic – search by a named plastic or broader plastic grade.
• Country – find useful local retailer options without losing sight of the lowest listed product price.
• Price – compare retailer prices in a common currency using current exchange-rate data.

Retailer feeds do not all describe variants equally well. One shop might tell us the exact weight, colour and plastic. Another might simply report that the mould is in stock.

DiscFinder can work with those incomplete listings by default, or you can ask for strict variant matching when you only want results where your requested details are explicitly present.

There is no API key and no DiscFinder account to create. The server is public and read-only.

Manual setup if you need it

Claude

In Claude, open Customize, choose Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector. Give it a name such as Golf With Discs DiscFinder, paste the MCP address above and add it.

Then enable the connector for your conversation and ask a normal shopping question. You do not need to mention MCP every time.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT can use MCP-backed custom apps where your plan and workspace settings support them. Paste the setup prompt above into ChatGPT first. If your account cannot add the connection directly from the conversation, ask it to show you the custom-app or developer settings available for your account.

The exact controls can differ by plan and workspace, so this avoids giving you instructions for a menu that may not exist on your account.

Cursor

Cursor can use remote MCP servers through its MCP configuration. If Cursor Agent has permission to edit your configuration, the setup prompt above may be enough. Otherwise add this to your global or project mcp.json.

How DiscFinder orders retailer results

Price matters, but shipping a cheap disc halfway across the planet can be a remarkably expensive way to save £2.

DiscFinder therefore treats the lowest listed product price separately from the rest of the retailer ordering. The lowest product price found across the available feeds is surfaced first.

After that, retailers in your country receive preference, followed by relevant regional shops and then retailers farther away. That gives you a useful price benchmark without pretending international postage does not exist.

Golf With Discs has affiliate relationships with some retailers. Partner retailers can receive preferential placement within their local or regional tier. An affiliate relationship does not replace the lowest-price result.

Qualifying links include affiliate attribution. Golf With Discs may earn a commission if you buy through one of those links, at no additional cost to you.

Price comparison needs some context

DiscFinder can convert retailer prices into your requested currency so international results are easier to compare.

A converted price is an estimate based on the exchange-rate data available to Golf With Discs. Card rates, tax, import charges and checkout conversion can alter the final amount.

Shipping is separate too. The lowest listed product price is a useful benchmark, not a promise of the cheapest delivered disc.

What happens when retailer data is incomplete

Retail inventory is annoyingly human.

One shop might tell us a disc is 169g, pink and Star plastic. Another may simply say “Star TeeBird in stock”. Pretending those descriptions are equally precise would make the results tidier and the information worse.

By default, DiscFinder can include relevant stock even when some variant fields are unspecified.

If you need certainty, ask for strict matching. DiscFinder can then restrict the results to retailers where your requested variant details are explicitly present in the feed.

Current stock rather than catalogue theory

DiscFinder reads pre-aggregated retailer inventory feeds that are refreshed daily.

A disc database can tell you that a mould exists. DiscFinder tries to answer the next question: who currently appears to have it?

Stock can change between a feed update and checkout. Always confirm the final variant, price and availability on the retailer’s product page before buying.

Privacy

DiscFinder does not require an account or API key. The MCP service does not retain the text of your AI prompts.

Operational telemetry is limited to sanitised request counts and performance information.
