Top 5 Disc Golf Discs Friday December 26, 2025

Just in time for the post-Christmas rummage through one’s bag, the disc golf rankings offered a few intriguing swaps this week. While the Buzzz remains eternally glued to the top like pine sap on a favourite fairway jacket, the Axiom Crave slipped into the #2 seat, shouldering past the Destroyer with all the subtlety of a committed line drive. You’d hardly notice if you weren’t looking, but momentum’s often like that—quiet, stable, and with the gentle persistence of a dog nudging your hand for another throw.

The Crave’s surge isn’t some fluke in a fruitcake-fuelled fog. It’s a disc that has, for months now, been sniffing around the podium. Its understable charm has clearly wormed its way into the hands—and hearts—of touchy-feely throwers across all skill brackets. Could it topple the Buzzz? Well, Discraft’s crown jewel has now held the top for 35 appearances, so I wouldn’t start melting bronze for statues just yet.

But the returning drama comes courtesy of an old flame: the Innova Leopard3. Out for seven weeks and thought to be quietly mothballed in basements nationwide, the Leopard3 bounded 128 places back into the limelight, claiming spot #26. That’s not a comeback—it’s a rugby tackle. What coaxed it back? Perhaps winter leagues skew under control, or maybe it’s just the psychological comfort of something familiar. Whatever the cause, it’s back, and it’s brought its fanbase with it.

On the opposite end of the enthusiasm spectrum, the Zone is wobbling. Once clinging to second, it’s now shifted back to fifth. Not a dramatic freefall, but enough to raise eyebrows. It could be a case of seasonal preference—players leaning less on overstable mids as the air gets thicker and the ground slicker. Or perhaps everyone just received a Glitch in their Christmas stocking.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Axiom continues its dominance with the Pixel and Hex, both still holding strong. The Trail, Luna, and MVP Glitch all remain steady, like polite party guests who refill the punch bowl unprompted. And the Destroyer? Still in third, though cooling off. We’ll see if it’s merely regrouping.

Down the chart, RPM had a quietly productive week with two little-known heroes—Kahu and Tui—leaping forward like startled kangaroos. Meanwhile, Discmania’s Mentor continued its rapid ascent, now ranked 175 after vaulting 140 places in four weeks. That’s less a climb, more a slingshot.

If this week’s taught us anything, it’s that timing is everything. Whether you’re staging a comeback, building quiet momentum, or wondering why your Zone suddenly isn’t getting picked for doubles—these rankings are as behavioural as they are statistical. Will the Crave challenge the Buzzz for the top in the New Year? Or will the Leopard3 keep climbing and steal the headlines again?

See you next Friday for more chart shuffles and grip-lock gossip.
