Leopard3 Returns to the Spotlight as PD2 Blazes Through the Rankings

Top 5 Disc Golf Discs Friday December 12, 2025

This week’s disc rankings feel like one of those action-packed rounds where someone brings out a Leopard3 mid-round and suddenly they’re parked on every hole. Which is rather fitting, considering the Leopard3 has made a roaring comeback to #26 after a seven-week nap off the chart. Classic case of ‘absence makes the heart throw better’ or maybe just life finding a fairway again.

Then there’s the PD2 — not so much climbing as launching. Discmania’s very overstable beast jumped 192 places to #81 in just four weeks. The kind of chart movement you’d expect only if someone accidentally left it in Simon’s bag during a signing tour. That’s not a climb. It’s a cannonball.

Meanwhile, in the upper echelons, the Buzzz is refusing to let go of its crown. Thirty-three weeks at number one, making the rest of the field look like they’re playing catch with pool noodles. The Destroyer, predictably reliable, holds firm at #2 — it’s basically the Toyota Hilux of the leaderboard.

Axiom had a more dynamic week: the Crave moved up to #3 despite a ‘cooling off’ tag, while the Hex slipped to #4. Psychological point worth noting — we trust brands that feel like they’re moving, even when they’re wiggling sideways. Not every nudge is progress, but it sure feels exciting. The Pixel and Luna keep inching upwards like you’re watching biscuits rise in the oven — slow, satisfying, and probably ending in delight.

Down at #9, Kastaplast’s Berg made a cheeky return to the Top 10, nudging out the more tempestuous Glitch. Predictable as ever? Not really. The Glitch had been threatening stardom, but disc golfers are a fickle flock. You can’t go full space-age forever. Sometimes, you just want a berg in the storm.

Regionally, the plots thicken. Europe continues its love affair with Kastaplast, with Berg and Reko leading the dance. In the Americas, the Crave holds strong while the Pixel creeps ever closer to the top 3. Oceania sticks with old faithfuls: Buzzz, Destroyer and a steady diet of Mako3s, as if indecision isn’t on the menu.

Next Friday, we’ll see whether the PD2 keeps flying or flames out. And whether the Leopard3’s comeback was a one-week wonder or the start of its second act. If disc psychology teaches us anything — humans reward what’s hot, but stay loyal to what works. See you next week for more glorious shifts and stubborn favourites.
