Top 5 Disc Golf Discs Friday October 17, 2025

This week’s Golf Disc Rankings handed us the kind of subtle yet satisfying upheaval that makes disc nerds nod knowingly. The big story? A little thing called Crave has now broken into the Top 3, nudging out the Axiom Hex and bringing a shade of underdog thrill to a chart too often dominated by heavyweight midranges and distant drivers.

The Crave’s rise may not be meteoric, but it’s methodical—and that’s more telling. Consistent appearances, a growing cult following, and its pleasant knack for making average players feel a touch more heroic on release. There’s psychology at work here. We crave (yes, I went there) predictable flight and tactile comfort, and the Crave delivers both without intimidating the thrower. Hence, it sticks around, climbs quietly, and now takes bronze in the popularity stakes.

Not far behind that understated success story is a dramatic re-entry: the Innova Leopard3 vaults back onto the scene at #26 after a seven-week exile. Look at that as a classic case of scarcity fuelling desirability. Like a seasonal pub ale, brief disappearance can be just enough to reignite affection among seasoned throwers and new players alike. Something about that smooth, understable flight feels indulgent post-hiatus. And let’s be honest—nostalgia’s a powerful sales force.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, the top remains calm. The Discraft Buzzz sits pretty at #1 for its 25th week. A disc that feels like the Labrador of midranges—reliable, loyal, and always up for a good time. Even the Destroyer, hot on its heels, couldn’t knock it off its perch. Perhaps we’re all just collectively afraid to mess with a good thing.

There were a few peculiar dance steps beneath the surface. The MVP Glitch stumbled slightly, slipping from #6 to #8, while the very overstable Zone regained some temperature and climbed two spots to #6. A behavioural nudge worth noting: players newly embracing torque-resistant approaches may be fuelling the Zone’s rebound.

And let’s raise a brow for the Boss. Not because it’s in the Top 10—it isn’t. But it did climb 115 spots in just four weeks. That’s less a step forward and more a quantum leap. Something’s brewing in the long-bomb crowd.

Will the Crave go further? Will something rise from the abyss (again)? List drops every Friday, so meet us back here for your weekly disc gossip. Until then, throw clean and don’t sleep on the sneaky plastic.
