Top-ranked discs on Friday July 11, 2025
In a rankings week where steady hands met sudden surges, the disc that’s designed not to fly too far is now flying high in the charts. Yes, the Kastaplast Berg has defied physics and perception, jumping into the global #2 slot. It’s the downhill putter that somehow climbed uphill. Perhaps players are valuing touch and control after weeks of windy rounds. Or maybe the Berg has morphed from cult classic into cross-bag must-have.
Still untouchable up top is the ever-reliable Buzzz, securing an 11th week at #1. At this point, it’s less of a leaderboard and more of a residency. But the real fireworks were lower in the ranks, where MVP’s Dimension leapfrogged a staggering 149 positions in four weeks to land at #113. That’s not a bounce, it’s a bungee jump in reverse. Its rise hints at a shift in high-speed driver demand, or maybe players are simply falling for its overstable dependability in summer crosswinds.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, the Glitch moved up to #4, climbing past the Crave and the Destroyer, the latter of which continues to drift downward, now sitting 7th. Curious behaviour for a disc that once felt like a permanent fixture in power throwers’ bags. Perhaps the complexity of modern course design is nudging players toward hyzer-flippers and finesse over raw muscle.
Also worth a raised eyebrow: the Trail, a stable hybrid from MVP, is quietly making nose-forward progress as it climbs to #6. It’s not flashy, but its consistency might be making it the Mercury of the top discs – reliable, neutral, unbothered.
Let’s not ignore geography. In Europe, the Berg reigns, naturally, while Latitude 64 claims three spots in the regional Top 5. In the Americas, it’s more business as usual – the Crave and Destroyer flank the champ, Buzzz. Oceania’s list, stabilised around the Trail and Judge, reveals a taste for gentle fades and calm control.
Next week could bring a shake-up in the Top 5 as the Glitch continues its sneaky ascent and the Champion wannabes squabble for staying power. Will another disc pull a Dimension-style stunt? Or will the Berg keep playing mountain goat on the leaderboard?
