Top-ranked discs on Friday June 6, 2025
Let’s talk birds and beasts, shall we? The star of this week’s chart isn’t a flashy name-brand darling but the RPM Huia, which has decided gravity’s overrated. Up 126 spots in just four weeks, this overstable control driver now finds itself at #121, leaving dusty shelves and raised eyebrows in its wake. It didn’t even bother asking permission—just flapped its polymer wings and flew.
Now, behavioural folks among us might ask: what’s fuelling this antipodean ascent? Odds are, we’re seeing a textbook cocktail of novelty bias and regional pride. RPM discs have always had that tactile charm and earthy loyalties from Oceania players. Add a few cheeky YouTube mentions, and suddenly everyone’s Googling “huia” like it’s an exotic fruit.
But wait—before we crown a new cult favourite, there’s an old face winking its way back into the frame. The Leopard3, once a staple of silky fairway turnovers, has returned at #26 after a seven-week vanishing act. Maybe it never left your bag, but in ranking terms, it might as well have been hitchhiking across Mars. Sometimes, especially with discs, absence really does act like a spice rack for affection.
In the top tier, lands are shifting subtly. The Destroyer slinks back into the #3 slot with a smug “cooling off” tag, though anyone who’s ever hucked it knows there’s nothing lukewarm about that rim bite. The Crave trades places with it, now at #4, still holding strong in its loyal understable driver’s cult. And the Buzzz? Unshakeable at #1. You could probably launch it from a trebuchet and still park a C2 putt.
Further down, the MVP Trail cracks the Top 10 at #10, inching up like an introvert at a networking event—and we’re here for it. The Wraith (#7) and Envy (#14) also nudge upward, almost apologetically, which makes sense given their long-term bag residency in most of our lives.
Meanwhile, the regional interests carry on diverging like duelling Spotify playlists. Europe’s still smitten with Kastaplast putters and Latitude 64 gliders. Oceania keeps its loyalty focused on Innova and Axiom. And in the Americas, it’s still Buzzz, Crave, and Destroyer holding court like midrange monarchy.
No new entrants to the Top 40 this week, though if the excitement around the Axiom Excite (#219) gathers steam, we might see that velocity turn kinetic soon.
Back next Friday with more chart chaos, attempted comebacks, and plastic-fuelled psychology. Until then, throw well and bag wisely.
