The army is being called in to help the fight against foot-and-mouth disease in Northumberland after a further three cases were confirmed It also means that the disc golf event at Burnlaw scheduled for 22/23 September has been cancelled.

Event 8 of tour 2001 will take place at Essex University over the weekend September
22/23. This is a direct replacement for the cancelled Burnlaw event.

Saturday am- 9.45 players meeting at sports centre
10.30- first round 18 holes
Saturday p.m.- 18 hole second round
Sunday am- time tbc- third round 18 holes
Sunday PM- fourth/final round, all players, 18 holes. The divisional split for this round
will be decided once the field is known on Saturday morning.

There will be the normal ctp/longman competitions.
cost- �7.50 per player/ �6.50 BDGA members- (the cheapest tournament of the year!?!).
