Great Britain  Foot and Mouth Disease Impacts British Tour
Great Britain
Friday 16th March
In light of the current problems this epidemic is causing, the British Disc Golf Association (BDGA) have been forced to look at its impact on the tour.

The BDGA's director of tournaments, Andy Lucey told us; "I want to cause minimal disruption to the calendar so don't really want to look beyond Mull at the moment. If come mid april there are still serious problems- we will have to consider impact on the other tournaments at Hayling and Beaminster."

He advised the following;

Bristol jugs- March 31/April 1.
"We are looking at a location change. Ashton Court is currently closed but the boys there are discussing with the council an alternative location which looks a likely possibility.

As of today- there will be a Bristol tournament. Contact the tournament director for more details

Mull- may 5/6

There is currently no foot and mouth problem on Mull. However-there are livestock movement restrictions to minimse the risks.
If these restrictions continue we will not be able to have a tournament there.

We will make a decision on this by the the end of march absolute latest- 5 weeks before
the tournament- that will still leave adequate time to arrange travel.

One option we are looking at is to switch the Mull event with Colchester as the university has no livestock problem (beyond the students !). The university are currently considering this.

If this is the case- Colchester will be held on either May 5/6 or May 12/13 and we shall
switch Mull to early october."

As soon as the BDGA have more information they will let us know.
